Hit down, don't help up, to launch the ball high

Amy Cho says the most common fault when trying to clear a tree is that golfers try to help the ball up to get it in the air, which she says loses ball speed and backspin so the ball starts off lower and dives instead of going high. Instead she says to hit down on it, which pops the ball up with nice height and adds backspin, producing a ball flight that is piercing and high.
