Pick a club that can't go long when long is dead
When there is big trouble long of the green, choose a club you cannot reach long with even if you strike it well. That lets you commit and swing firmly without the risk of over-clubbing. Into the wind with 127 to the pin, Dan chose a pitching wedge (his 132 club) so he could hit it fairly firm and not go long.
