Chip and run with a longer backswing, shorter finish
For a low chip-and-run, the instructor observes the best players use a slightly longer backswing and a slightly shorter follow-through. On one shot he sees, he feels the ball ride up the face. He has the golfer 'nip' the follow-through so it stays shorter after the ball to produce the lower, running window.
