Under pressure, pick the higher-margin shallow chip
For a pressure chip with one shot to hit, the coach chooses the shot with the larger margin for error - a bit more on the shallow side. A shallow chip lets you mis-hit it and still leave a tap-in, whereas if you are 15 degrees down trying to hit a super-low spinner and you mis-hit it, you are probably chipping again.
