Rehearse the pump drill pre-impact position

The pump drill has you swing up to the top and rehearse getting back down to a specific pre-impact position. Checkpoints for that position: the butt end of the club points to the middle of the lead knee, the shaft is parallel to (as low as) the knees, and the clubhead is levered up above and behind the handle. The speaker notes the low-handle position feels weird because most people would expect the handle to be about hip high.

Try it

  1. Go up to the top and get back down to that position
  2. The butt end of the golf club should be right to the middle of your lead knee
  3. The clubhead should be levered up above the handle and behind the handle
  4. The shaft should be parallel to your knees

Why this context matters

Builds on a 'lever lag release' concept the speaker says he covered in prior videos.
