Hit a three-quarter knockdown to control the flight
For a controlled approach the coach teaches a three-quarter knockdown: narrow the stance up, get the weight onto the left (lead) side, and swing to three-quarter length. The shortened swing controls how far the ball goes, keeps the hands leading at impact, and keeps you down on top of the ball.
