Draw the long bunker shot for extra carry and run
For a 30-35 yard bunker shot, the instructor plays a draw version: drop the right foot back, swing a little in-to-out, and release the club while turning the face over at the same time so the sand is moved more forward. This puts a right-to-left spin axis on the ball, which helps carry it further, and it tends to land and run a little to the left. Don't open the face as much as normal, just have it a fraction open.

Why this context matters
Option two of three; the instructor names it his personal favourite for control.
