De-loft going back, add loft through, for end-over-end roll
The coach describes the putting strike as a feel: in the backstroke it should feel de-lofted, and coming through you add loft, which produces an end-over-end roll on the ball. He warns against hitting too far down on it (the ball skips or hops) or too far up at it, which causes the same problem.
