Take your medicine and pick a club that safely escapes

On strategy from a fairway bunker, the Porzak Golf coach says the first priority is getting out of the bunker and advancing yourself rather than leaving it in. If a longer club won't get out, he'd take something closer to a nine iron or pitching wedge, taking his medicine out to a wedge distance he can then get up and down. For his players, the first thing he identifies is what club will safely get you out.
