Groove swing path with the box drill
For a club path that is excessively inside-out or outside-in, the instructor uses a cardboard club box. You set up to the ball normally to judge how far from the ball to place the box, then position it between your feet and the ball with equal parts of the box to the right and left of the ball. Its raised edges give feedback: swinging excessively inside-out tends to hit the box before the ball, while a steep over-the-top path tends to hit it just after the ball, so getting through unscathed requires a fairly neutral path.
