Play a low checking chip that grabs and stops

To hit a specialist low checking chip around the green, the coach plays the ball further back on the right foot with a bit more shaft lean and the handle leading, and keeps the clubhead level with the ground through impact rather than hitting down (which pops it up too high). He stresses light grip pressure and getting the ball launching low, because the low launch is what creates the check.
