De-loft a lofted wedge to create spin
To put spin on the bump-and-run, the instructor takes a lofty club (a lob wedge or a sand wedge) and de-lofts it by pushing his hands forward with the ball back. Starting with more loft and de-lofting gives the ball more time to rise up the face, which creates more spin.
