Play one ball position for every club
The coach's approach to ball position is to simplify by putting the ball in one spot for every club rather than moving it around for different clubs. He places it just in front of his body's natural low point - the point where the club bottoms out in the dirt on his practice swings - which for him is about a club-head width inside his lead (left) heel, roughly just to the left of the shirt-button area. He notes this spot may feel a little forward for some irons or back for a driver, but it matches the body's natural low point and may bring more consistency and cleaner contact.
