Club down off the tee under pressure

Reflecting after a poor tee shot, the player frames the hole as course management: under pressure, hitting driver was not the play, because a four iron would have easily found the fairway and left him a look at birdie. The transferable point is to club down off the tee to secure the fairway rather than reaching for driver, especially under pressure.
