Club up to a lower-lofted wedge for a smooth pitch
From 50 yards the instructor plays a 52-degree wedge instead of the 56 he would normally reach for. Taking less loft lets him make a lovely, smooth swing without forcing it; when he feels he has to force a shot the 'screws come loose' and he starts hitting with too much wrist.
