Line up club face and path to avoid a glancing blow

With an out-to-in swing path and an open club face, the two energy-producing factors, path and face, point in different directions and you get a glancing 'glance and blow' strike. To create maximum impact the instructor wants those two factors lined up; in this case that meant keeping the club face between the target and the path.
