Hit a knockdown with a stronger, delofted face

For a held-off, three-quarter punch (knockdown), Craig Hanson's keys are to get the club face into a more downward, delofted position for more forward shaft lean, and to use a stronger (more closed) face so it does not open at impact. That produces a lower, held-off flight that holds under the wind - the three-quarter punch you want with your 8- and 9-irons to rip it into the green instead of flighting every iron up high.
