Set up stable and tall in a fairway bunker

To catch the ball first from a fairway bunker, the coach builds a stable base and avoids much sway, staying centered over the ball with the weight a little forward and covering the ball. He stands a hair taller and does not dig the feet in. Keeping the swing stable without shifting back or forward is what lets you hit the ball first and send it as far as possible.
