Study Fitzpatrick's thumb-index strong-grip pattern

The coach defines a notch as the V-shaped connection between the thumb and inner index finger where the handle can rest. In the strong-grip pattern described, the lead-thumb fingerprint sits more toward the club instead of on top; the trail palm pad connects to the lead index-finger seam, then the trail index finger extends before an elongated pinch and press. The resulting trail V points more toward the trail ear than the trail shoulder.
