Keep your weight on your lead foot when chipping
Amy says amateurs often chip by taking it back like a full swing and shifting weight into the right foot, but in chipping you have to leave your weight in the left (lead) foot and maintain it. Because the chip is such a small swing, once weight gets into the right foot it is hard to get back to the correct spot on the way down. Keeping weight in the left makes the downswing more consistent.
