Keep elbows together so your body turns the hands up
Porzak invokes the famous image of Ben Hogan swinging with his elbows banded together — the same idea as the strap tour strikers train with. Keeping the elbows together guarantees that the body, not the arms, turns the hands to the top of the backswing. The moment the elbows break apart and 'get wide,' the arms narrow alongside the body and you lose your width and connection.
