Set ball position behind your swing's low point

Set your ball position behind the lowest point of your swing. To find that point, hold the club straight out in front of you and drop it straight down - that spot is your low point - then set the ball at least two to three balls back of it. Danny frames this as the first stage of the setup.

Try it

  1. Hold the club out straight in front of them like this, drop it straight down, and this is the low point of your golf swing
  2. Make sure that your ball position is at least two to three balls back of that place

Why this context matters

Taught as step one of a two-step method for striking any club cleanly off the ground.
