Point trail palm away from target to set the club

To finish the backswing without ruining the letter Y, set the club with the wrists rather than by bending the trail arm. Bending the arm to gain length ruins the Y. Instead, point the palm of your trail hand away from the target (toward almost palm-to-sky); this hinges the club upward while keeping the structure. Then simply rotate the trail (right) side back down onto the ball.
