Grip tighter to pick woods and hybrids off the sand

When hitting a fairway wood from a fairway bunker, play the ball forward and feel like you are almost thinning it or taking a slight top shot. Grip it a little tighter than normal, which is the opposite of usual advice: tighter grip takes the wrists out, and because tight muscles are shorter, the clubhead sits a little nearer to you, stopping it from digging down into the sand so you pick it clean off the top.
