Pick a conservative target instead of curving from trouble
Rather than aiming at a hazard and curving the ball away from it, the speaker found that a more conservative target let him make a more confident swing. He notes he doesn't have as much ball control as Ernie Els, and that when he aimed at the hazard trying to curve it away he wasn't making confident swings and it didn't produce better distance or dispersion.
