Swing under an angled alignment stick to stop lifting
To build the change, the coach plants an alignment stick in the ground slightly angled and set inward off the golf ball, about six or seven inches away and within reach of the club. The goal is to swing under the stick without touching it: if you lift you will hit the stick, and you can also hit it on the downswing. He uses it as a deliberate obstacle so you stop lifting.
