Carry past front runoffs on links approaches

Runoff areas at the front of the green can send a shot that comes up a little short back about 30 yards. Hit a little past the pin because short shots can cause problems. A pitching wedge that normally goes 135 provides plenty of club for a three-quarter shot.

Why this context matters

This applies when a links green has a front runoff that gathers short approaches away from the hole.
