Fringe putt: halve the fringe, add it past the hole

For putting through fringe, the Porzak coach shares a speed formula: take the distance of fringe you have to cross, cut it in half, and add that amount behind the hole - then hit the putt hard enough to reach that spot. He says the formula typically always works.

Try it

  1. Take the distance you have to the fringe and cut it in half
  2. Add that on to the back of the hole
  3. Hit it that hard - half that distance past the hole

Why this context matters

Putting from a little fringe that is not mowed tight but not thick enough to bother the roll.
