Add a top-edge alignment mark to your putter

The instructor found that a putter he rolled well with, the PXG Blackjack, had an alignment line on its top edge running as close to the ball as possible, and theorized that a simple dot or marking on the top edge of the blade right at the ball helps him strike the center of the putter face more often, which in turn gives more consistency with speed and line. To test it he taped the top edge of his Scotty Cameron and drew a line with a Sharpie as close to the ball as he could, noting the mark is 100% legal since it is just paint. He then played, made tons of putts, and recommends adding your own alignment aid near the ball so the center of the putter meets the center of the ball every time.
