Prop drill: prop up a stake to deliver loft
Danny Maude's prop drill for solid fairway-wood strikes: set the ball roughly a club-width inside your lead heel and picture a post running from your lead shoulder into the ground. Turn your trail foot out a little and prop yourself up around that post as you pivot back over the ball. Then, coming down, keep sensing that your trail-side pocket is held back as you turn into the ball, which keeps the club coming back into the ball and delivering loft.
