Tee it low to eliminate one side off the tee

Hitting lower on the driver face tends to cut the ball, and that cut can become a predictable pattern. If you have a two-way miss, teeing the ball nice and low produces a repeatable shot that lets you eliminate one side of the golf course, so you can aim down that side and just swing without changing your setup or moving the ball back.
