Use hinge and hold for a hotter checking chip
For a hinge-and-hold chip, play the ball back and align the shaft with the lead armpit. Aim for the leading-edge section to strike the ball and then the ground, producing a hotter flight with possible backspin; add a small wrist hinge on the backswing and hold that hinge.
