Trace the trail hand with a palm drill
Start palm to palm, place the lead hand on top and the trail palm underneath, and keep the lead hand stationary. Move the trail hand back toward the middle with the trail elbow around 45 degrees and the trail wrist cupped, then bring the trail hand and arm back underneath to the lead hand and repeat. The coach says this rehearses how the trail arm and hand work back on plane and return while holding lag.
