Set up for a standard-depth bunker splash

Use a slight reverse tilt with the upper body. Set up to splash the shot so the club can slide under rather than moving too steeply down after the ball.

Try it

  1. Nice wide stance, get that front foot flared out around about 45 degrees
  2. Pelvis forward, ball position around about one ball inside the front heel
  3. Open the club face up to the right where the grooves are pointing, standing a little further away
  4. Add a little reverse tilt with the upper body; don't lean toward the target or you get too steeply down

Why this context matters

The baseline standard-lie bunker shot the other lies are adapted from.
