Preset an impact position to rehearse impact feel

The instructor gives a simplified impact-feel drill: get pressure forward and turn the chest open about 30 degrees, keeping the head centered so you have a little right bend and a slight push-up of the trail side, with the hips open a little. From that preset position you go back to P six (shaft parallel) with the leading edge square to your back line, then move right back into impact and hit little pitch shots. He says it gives a good sense of what impact should feel like.

Try it

  1. get pressure forward and turn your chest open about 30
  2. keep your head centered, which means you'd have a little right bend and a little pushup trail
  3. get your hips open a little bit and then start at that position
  4. go back to P six or shop parallel and get the leading edge square to your back
  5. move right back into that impact and just start hitting a little pit shots

Why this context matters

The instructor notes it is hard to convey without seeing it, then gives this simplified version to follow.
