Avoid sharply accelerating the putter through impact
A pendulum accelerates strongly when it first falls, but that acceleration decreases as it approaches the bottom; at the extreme bottom it is zero, then the motion begins decelerating. The coach says the best putters catch the ball slightly on the upswing.
