Rehearse external rotation with palm-up arms
Without a club, extend both hands from the shoulders with the thumbs up, rotate both palms up, and place the hands about five inches outside the hips. Rehearse the hands moving back and around like serving a platter, then bring the height down and reconnect. The coach says this external rotation gives the lead arm a bracing position for the club to release down, out, and around the handle.
