Overlap the hands to let the wrists work together
For an overlap grip, bring the knuckles close, wrap the hand around the thumb so the thumb sits inside the palm, and focus pressure just inside the knuckle used as the rock-skip lever. The overlap joins the wrists and lets the two hand-pressure points work together; moving the hands farther apart makes coordinated wrist action harder.
