Shorten the backswing and accelerate on short wedges
The instructor says most players take a long backswing and then slow down on short wedge shots, which is very hard to time. His fix is to take a shorter backswing, about parallel to the ground or halfway back, keep the same motion, and rotate the body through while accelerating, letting the momentum of the club do the work rather than forcing or jerking at it. He stresses keeping the acceleration going instead of decelerating.
