Strike putts from the middle of the face for pace

The instructor says the easiest key is striking the ball out of the middle of the putter face. To check it, put a blob of blue tack on each side of the center so off-center strikes hit the tack and reveal whether you miss toward the heel or toe. The gate drill does the same job: set two tee pegs slightly wider than the putter head and roll the ball through without touching them to confirm center contact.
