Aim a hybrid by the grooves, not the top line
The coach points out that a hybrid's top line can look straight while the club face is actually pointed left, and that gripping the club to match the top edge leaves the face dead shut so the ball goes left. He encourages players to look at the grooves and leading edge rather than the top line, and to make sure the grooves match the shaft of the club when looking down. He calls hitting the hybrid left the most common flaw he sees with hybrids, including from people who don't hook the ball.
