Set ball just ahead of center and press to hit up
Porzak explains how to set putter ball position and why. Find dead center of your stance by going to your zipper and holding the club straight down; the ball should sit just ahead of that point. Then bump the handle forward a couple of degrees to de-loft the face, so you hit slightly up on the ball and roll it with topspin (he compares it to hitting up with a de-lofted racket in tennis) rather than hitting down on it.

- Go to zipper and just hold the club straight down
- The ball should just be just ahead of that
- Take the butt of the club and give it the slight couple degrees of press that move the handle over the top of the ball
- Hit up with that slightly de-lofted face and it's going to put topspin on it
