Balance-board half swing with right-foot lift-off check

The next stage of the drill uses a balance board under the left foot. Make a half swing, then lift the right foot off the ground once the half swing finishes, and check whether the left foot feels tense. The instructor says to keep the knees bent and pointing forward throughout the swing. Once comfortable, hit a ball with a full backswing and the same half-swing finish, then take the right foot off - he says if weight is still left on the right foot you will feel it when you try to lift that foot.
