Push lead hip forward, then turn through to the target

For better iron contact, hinge the wrists and move the lead hip forward until it is directly over the lead foot, creating a slight body tilt. Then turn the chest, hips, and trail knee toward the target, stopping when the trail arm is parallel to the ground. The forward movement of the hips is presented as helping the player strike the ball first.

Try it

  1. Get a little bit of a hinge in your wrists then push your lead hip over the front pad
  2. Lift the club up and push your hip forwards directly over your lead foot
  3. Turn your chest and your hips and your trail knee to face the target
  4. Stop with your trail arm parallel with the ground
