Turn the lead hand to a three-knuckle grip for a flat wrist

Hanson offers a grip change to make a flat lead wrist easier: turn the lead (left) hand in so you see three knuckles, which puts the lead wrist more into extension. He says from this grip you can still reach the top with a flat left wrist and get the sole of the club slightly higher than the lead forearm.
