Increase grip pressure into impact, don't decrease it
The coach teaches an increasing grip pressure through the swing rather than a decreasing one. He observes that many amateurs hold the club too tightly at address and then decrease their grip pressure by the time they hit it; instead he holds it securely with some waggle and firms up into impact. He cites Sam Snead's 'live bird' image: hold it securely so it's not fluttering but stay oily in the wrist, then squeeze as you get into impact.
