Practice the driver in swing circles, not by pounding balls
The speaker's optimal driver practice, which he calls "swing circles" (going from a "red zone" to a "green zone"), is not technical swing work but aiming at a target and hitting a driver, then repeating that until he builds a confident swing pattern. On each rep he runs his full routine: lining the club face up to his line, setting his ball position and setting up, taking a couple of waggles, getting comfortable, then hitting the driver.
