Ease back after a layoff over a two-week ramp
After a couple months off, the speaker eases back in over about two weeks rather than swinging hard right away. In the first week he hits no drivers, sticking to eight, nine, and seven irons in short sessions of around 20 minutes just to get back into movement. Around four or five days in he starts hitting some longer clubs and a few drivers and checks his mechanics, giving himself a two-week window to get back into rhythm before swinging hard.
