Practice bunkers from a plugged uphill lie
A solo drill the instructor uses to groove both the full backswing and hitting down: find an uphill slope, plug the ball into it as much as possible, then play the shot. The buried uphill lie requires so much power to dig the ball out that it forces you to make a full backswing and hit down on it, fixing both the backswing size and the downswing motion at once.
