Map your putting pattern from four slopes

Run a two-meter putting pattern test from straight uphill, straight downhill, left-slope, and right-slope positions around a fake hole. Hit five balls from each position and mark every stopping point; directional scatter indicates a starting-direction problem, while a stable line with varied lengths indicates a distance-control problem.

Try it

  1. Find straight uphill, straight downhill, left uphill, and right uphill positions at two meters around a fake hole.
  2. Hit five at a time.
  3. Mark the position where each ball stops.

Why this context matters

Instructor says this pattern test is the first thing used when players arrive for a putting lesson.
